Submissions

We solicit original manuscript submissions related to Pearl Harbor both before, on the “Day of Infamy” and afterward. Personal articles including details of events leading up to the day of the attack and especially personal accounts of individual experiences are needed. (See Archives 2018 button for the John Edward Maxey story entitled “I Was There” as an example.) We are seeking original articles and topics which have not been adequately presented before. Due to possible copyright and legal restrictions, all articles submitted must be original and exclusive to PearlHarborDay1941.com and Pioneer Productions.

SPECIAL NOTE:

Funders of articles for the Pearl Harbor Day of Remembrance have no control over the selection or focus of articles or the editing process and do not review articles before publication. PearlHarborDay1941.com retains full editorial control.

PRINT REQUIREMENTS:

For articles, between 1,500 and 3,500 plus words in length; please include photos, sketches, and maps or other visual aids as it adds to the story.

ONLINE REQUIREMENTS:

For articles between 650 and 2,000 words. Please utilize embedded hyperlinks to point to sources.


Such works should be submitted as e-mail attachments in both a .pdf and .docx file format. Please direct submissions to: jim@pearlharborday1941.com for review; put “Submissions” in the subject line. Please include a short two to three sentence biography at the end of each written work about yourself. Articles submitted are not guaranteed to be displayed. All submissions will be reviewed by our staff for relevance and possible inclusion in the annual Pearl Harbor Day of Remembrance Program Guide. Please allow 5-7 business days for review after submission. We will notify you if your submitted subject matter is chosen for the next Program Guide.
