Educational Outreach Program

One of American Legion Post 2’s missions is to help students become engaged and thoughtful citizens by expanding their knowledge base, developing vital critical thinking and decision-making skills and enhancing their understanding of America’s most cherished value. Through classroom visits by veterans providing a focus on events “as seen through the eyes of veterans;” we hope to enlighten and inspire the youth and citizens of the United States by providing historically accurate and relevant information.

The annual Pearl Harbor Day of Remembrance Program Guide will be hand-delivered to high school students in the East Tennessee area by our Tennessee National Guard to provide historic and visual documentation on the “Day of Infamy” which lead the United States into World War II.

Liberty and freedom are NOT free. We want our youth to understand that Honor –Liberty – Freedom are the basis for the United States values yesterday, today, and especially tomorrow!
